Meeting Notes
March 17, 2017

Kris Peerand opened the meeting at 10 am. To accommodate our speaker, she
changed the order of the meeting, and we had the program first. 
Our speaker was Tien Chiu, and she spoke about the creative process. Tien has just
published a book, "Master Your Craft: Strategies for Designing, Making, and
Selling Artisan Work";. Find out more about Tien and her work at

After the program we broke for refreshments, and the business meeting began at
11:30.

Announcements:
Kathy Dowel is having a yarn stash sale on 4/2/17.
Mary-Helen Binger is looking for a roommate at CNCH conference.
Will Taylor announced Spinning at the Winery is June 3, 2017.

Show and Tell followed announcements, then the guild business:
The treasurer reported a balance of $1,382.92 in the checking account.

Business cards are available for members to distribute to people we meet in the
community. See Vilija for cards.

CNCH Liaison had no report. HGA will be holding Convergence 2018 in Reno, Nevada and will be looking for volunteers.

Margie Kaplan reported the display case at the Orinda Library is available for
November 2017. Items displayed can be marked for sale, and the library does
not take a percentage.

Programs:
4/21/17: Pat Stewart will talk about double weave on a parallel threading.
5/26/17: A home-grown mini workshop on ikat. It will be at the library, but run
until 3 pm. Information on needed supplies will be in the newsletter.
6/16/17: Picnic at Vilija's. Bring your potluck dish to share, and we will dye
warps.

Next year: September 2017 to June 2018. 
The bylaws say we need nominations for new officers. Positions to be filled are President, Vice President/program chair, Treasurer, Secretary, website, and hospitality. Please email Kris if you are willing to volunteer or have program ideas.
