Jan. 26, 2018 meeting notes


President Kris Peerand opened meeting at 10:05 a.m.

The meeting began with Show & Tell


Treasurer's Report:  There are 29 paid members; two more members renewed today.  Balance of checking account is $1,028.32, and savings balance is $1,001.90


Programs Report:  Today we are having a program by Robin Lynde, and other programs are being arranged.  Future meeting dates:


2/16, 3/16, 4/27, and May meeting on Eco dyeing at Margie's house.


CNCH Liaison - no news.  Joan Anderson reported the 2019 conference will be in June at Sonoma State in Rohnert Park.  There are contracts with 13 teachers. Classes will be 2 1/2 days. The conference will be run by the CNCH Advisory Council due to fire losses in the area.


Convergence 2018:  We need 60 items to donate to the goodie bags.  It was decided to do PPI cards. The guild will pay for supplies.


Study Group news


The study group will begin, and the topic will be Summer & Winter and extensions of Summer and Winter.  Maureen Miller will be the Queen Bee. A sign up sheet was passed and a kick off meeting planned. Group communications will be through a Ravelry group. Please note that groups are not private.  Format: each phase will be followed by an in depth meeting, including Show & Tell. The study group expects to take 6 to 8 months for the process.


Phase I:  start up meeting, sign ups, sign up  for Ravelry group. This phase will include basic summer & winter weaves.  Experienced weavers may want to skip to Phase 2.


Phase 2:  Color (polychrome, taquete)


Phase 3:  Swedish tied weaves


Following the break Robin Lynde of Meridian Jacobs presented a program about Fiber Shed.
